Evans UV2 Coated — Two-Ply UV-Cured Power and Durability
The Evans UV2 Coated is the two-ply version of the UV1 — combining the durability and tonal brightness of a UV-cured coating with the sustain control and added mass of a dual-ply construction. The UV coating’s harder surface brings clarity and projection to each stroke, while the two-ply build tightens the sustain and adds power to the attack. The result is a punchy, projecting coated head with exceptional head life that suits hard-playing rock and metal drummers who want both tonal quality and longevity.
The UV2 Coated offers a noticeably different tonal character to a standard G2 Coated — brighter, with more defined attack and more projection at higher volumes. For live work in larger venues where the drums need to cut through without relying on excessive microphone gain, the UV2’s combination of two-ply control and UV coating brightness makes it a serious option.
