Two Feet. Two Cams. One Legendary Iron Cobra Feel.
The Tama HP600DTW is the twin pedal in the Iron Cobra 600 family — pairing two matched Duo Glide pedal units via a lightweight, adjustable connecting rod. Every feature that makes the single HP600D one of the most adaptable pedals in its class is carried over identically to both sides: switchable Rolling Glide / Power Glide cam, double chain drive, Speedo-Ring ball-bearing rocker cam, Swivel Spring Tight system, and Power-Strike dual-surface beater. The result is a twin pedal that delivers balanced, consistent feel across both feet — essential for clean double bass passages, fast fills, and heavy-hitting performance.
Whether you play metal, prog, rock, fusion, or any style that demands double kick, the HP600DTW gives you pro-level Iron Cobra engineering at a price that makes sense for serious gigging and advancing drummers.
Duo Glide Cam — Two Feel Profiles on Both Sides The defining feature of the Iron Cobra 600, available on both the primary and slave pedals. The Duo Glide Cam is a single reversible sprocket. Flip it to Rolling Glide for a perfectly round cam — smooth, consistent, and linear throughout the stroke, ideal for dynamic and finesse-first playing. Flip it to Power Glide for an offset cam — accelerating the stroke for more speed and impact, ideal for heavy-hitting and high-speed double bass work. Switch between the two in seconds with a drum key. Both pedals can be set independently, giving you the option to run matching cams or experiment with different profiles on each foot.
Matched Twin Pedal Design The primary and slave pedals are identically engineered — same cam, same drive system, same hinge, same Speedo-Ring, same spring system. This symmetry is critical for twin-pedal playing: both feet receive the same response, weight, and resistance, eliminating the left-foot/right-foot imbalance that plagues cheaper double pedals.
Lightweight Adjustable Connecting Rod A precision-engineered connecting rod links the slave pedal to the primary unit. The rod is lightweight to minimise drag and fully adjustable in length, allowing you to set the slave pedal distance and angle to match your natural foot positioning. Smooth, low-friction universal joints at both ends ensure the motion transfer from slave to primary is direct and consistent.
Double Chain Drive The same durable double chain drive system used in the flagship Iron Cobra 900 series — on both primary and slave sides. Two parallel chains deliver smoother, more accurate motion and significantly greater durability than single-chain designs, eliminating lateral play so every ounce of foot energy reaches the beater.
Speedo-Ring Rocker Cam A ball-bearing-equipped rocker cam on both pedals replaces the traditional nylon rocker found on lesser models. The built-in ball bearing eliminates friction at the pivot point, giving noticeably smoother, faster, and more responsive action — a detail you feel immediately in fast double bass runs and ghost notes.
Swivel Spring Tight System A half-moon shaped spring tension rod on both pedals prevents the spring from twisting during play. Twisting springs are the biggest cause of inconsistent pedal feel over time — Spring Tight eliminates this entirely on both sides, maintaining consistent resistance and smooth power transmission stroke after stroke.
Power-Strike Beaters (×2) Both pedals include a Power-Strike beater with a dual-surface head — felt on one side for warm, rounded attack and plastic on the other for focused, punchy impact. Rotate the beater to switch surfaces in seconds. Beater angle and height are fully adjustable on both sides via a quick-set mechanism.
Para-Clamp II Pro Hoop Mount The Para-Clamp II Pro on the primary pedal rotates its head section to match the angle of any bass drum hoop — so the pedal sits perfectly flat on the floor regardless of your drum’s hoop geometry. Grips securely to a wide range of hoop diameters for rock-solid mounting.
Precision-Designed Hinge Both primary and slave pedals feature the 600-series precision hinge with a tough, cylindrical brass sleeve protecting the hinge pin — delivering precise footboard articulation and increased long-term durability, even under the demands of fast, sustained double bass playing.
Stable Iron Cobra Frame Wide, low baseplates on both pedals keep them planted during the hardest playing — no walking, sliding, or lifting, even on smooth stage floors. The anti-skid rubber on the underside of both baseplates adds an extra layer of grip.
Fully Adjustable — Both Sides Independently Spring tension, beater angle, beater height, footboard angle, cam orientation, and connecting rod length are all independently adjustable on both pedals — giving you complete control to match the feel, response, and power delivery to your playing style across both feet.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the HP600DTW and the HP600D? The HP600DTW is the twin (double) pedal version. It includes two matched pedal units connected by a lightweight adjustable connecting rod — both beaters strike the same bass drum. The HP600D is the single pedal. All engineering is identical: same Duo Glide cam, same double chain drive, same Speedo-Ring, same Spring Tight system. If you play double bass drumming, you need the HP600DTW. If you play single bass, the HP600D is the right choice.
Can I set different cam profiles on each pedal? Yes. The Duo Glide Cam on each pedal is independently reversible. You can run Rolling Glide on both sides, Power Glide on both sides, or mix — for example, Power Glide on your primary foot and Rolling Glide on your slave foot. Most drummers keep both sides matched, but the flexibility is there for experimentation.
What is the difference between the Iron Cobra 600 twin pedal and the Iron Cobra 900 twin pedal? Both share the same double chain drive, Speedo-Ring rocker cam, and Iron Cobra frame DNA. The 900 series adds a more refined cam system (separate Power Glide and Rolling Glide models rather than a single reversible cam), the Cobra Coil return spring system, a Hinge Guard for increased durability, and higher-precision machining throughout. The 600 delivers the majority of the 900’s feel and engineering at a significantly lower price point. For most gigging and advancing drummers, the 600 twin is the sweet spot between performance and value.
Is the slave pedal feel as good as the primary pedal? Yes — this is a key advantage of the Iron Cobra 600 twin. The slave pedal uses identical engineering to the primary: same cam, same double chain drive, same hinge, same Speedo-Ring, same spring system. The lightweight connecting rod is precision-engineered with low-friction universal joints to transfer motion smoothly. The result is a balanced, consistent feel across both feet — significantly better than twin pedals where the slave side uses cheaper components.
Can I adjust the distance between the two pedals? Yes. The connecting rod is fully adjustable in length, allowing you to set the slave pedal position to match your natural foot spacing. The universal joints at both ends also allow angular adjustment, accommodating different playing stances and hi-hat positioning.
Can I use the HP600DTW with an electronic kick pad? Yes. The primary pedal mounts to an electronic kick pad the same way it mounts to an acoustic bass drum hoop. It is compatible with kick pads from Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, and other major electronic kit manufacturers. Note that the slave pedal beater also strikes the same pad, so the kick pad must be positioned to receive both beaters simultaneously.
Can I add Cobra Coils to the HP600DTW? Yes. Tama’s Cobra Coil return spring accessories are sold separately and are compatible with the Iron Cobra 600 series. Cobra Coils add a supplementary return force to the footboard, improving speed and reducing fatigue during extended double bass passages. Ask our in-store team for availability and fitting advice.
What maintenance does the twin pedal need? Very little. The ball-bearing Speedo-Ring and Swivel Spring Tight system are largely maintenance-free on both sides. Periodically check chain tension and connecting rod tightness, and lubricate the hinge and bearing points with a light machine oil. The double chains are highly durable and should last years of normal gigging use.
