LP LP311H One Handed Triangle

LP LP311H One Handed Triangle: The Ultimate Hands-Free Rhythm Tool

The LP LP311H One Handed Triangle is a revolutionary percussion instrument that fundamentally changes how the triangle is played. Developed in collaboration with Broadway percussionist Doug Hinrichs, this patented design allows the player to perform complex triangle rhythms, including sustained rolls and intricate patterns, all with just one hand. This frees the other hand to play a shaker, cowbell, or another drum, significantly expanding a percussionist’s sonic capabilities.

Innovative Design and Superior Sound

The core of the LP311H’s appeal lies in its intelligent construction, which maintains the classic triangle sound while providing unprecedented control.

• Specialized Steel Bar: The triangle itself is made from a specially bent metal (steel) bar, chosen for its ability to produce a clear, powerful sound with optimal volume and sustain.

• Integrated Striker (“Bullet”): Instead of a separate beater, a Teflon-wrapped striker “bullet” is contained within a track between the sides of the bar. By shaking or tapping the plastic enclosure, the player can make the bullet strike the triangle, creating the percussive sound.

• Durable Plastic Enclosure: The entire structure is contained within a durable, grooved plastic housing. This grip fits comfortably in the player’s hand and is “vented” to ensure it does not muffle the triangle’s natural sustain and projection.

• 8″ Medium Pitch: The triangle is an 8-inch, medium-pitch model, offering a classic, sonorous tone that cuts through an ensemble mix.

Versatile Playing Techniques

The unique design allows for dynamic and versatile performance:

• Complex Rhythms and Rolls: The built-in striker facilitates easy, rapid, and sustained rolls (or redobles)—a technique that is nearly impossible with a traditional two-handed triangle.

• Open and Muffled Playing: Strategically placed openings in the plastic grip provide access to the triangle bar itself. This allows the player to touch the metal with a free finger to create classic open or muffled triangle sounds instantly.

• Latin and Brazilian Rhythms: The single-handed capability makes this instrument particularly useful for Latin and Brazilian rhythms where the percussionist often needs to manage multiple instruments simultaneously.

The LP LP311H is a perfect blend of high-tech innovation and classic percussion sound, making it a valuable tool for drummers, percussionists, and multi-instrumentalists across all genres.
