The Evans Heavy Weight Coated is a single-ply snare batter with a substantially thickened coating designed specifically for players who hit hard and go through standard heads at an unsatisfying rate. The heavier-than-standard coating adds significant mass to the playing surface, dampening high-frequency overtones naturally and producing a warm, thick snare crack with a naturally controlled sustain — all while dramatically extending the head’s lifespan under heavy playing.

The Heavy Weight Coated is a gigging drummer’s head: it handles the demands of long sets, frequent rehearsals, and the inevitable abuse of touring life with a consistency that lighter-coated options cannot match. It does not require external dampening to sound controlled, and it will not wear out or develop playing surface pitting as quickly as thinner alternatives.

Heavy-Weight Coating: Substantially thicker coating than standard heads — adds mass, warms tone, and dramatically extends head life under aggressive playing.
Natural Dampening: Heavy coating mass controls overtones and sustain without vent holes or gels — warm, full snare crack with natural decay.
Built for Heavy Hitters: Exceptional durability under repeated rimshots, backbeats, and the rigours of extended touring and gigging schedules.
