Pearl HCL-205DQR Rapid Lock drop clutch: drop your hi-hats closed with a stick tap, and change cymbals in seconds.

Instant Release. Locked Control. Designed for Double Kick Drummers.

The Pearl HCL-205DQR (H) is a Rapid Lock drop clutch designed to meet the demands of double bass players and fast-paced live setups. A single stick hit instantly drops the top hi-hat cymbal into a closed position, allowing you to move between open and closed sounds without using your foot — perfect when both feet are on the kick pedals.

What sets this clutch apart is Pearl’s Rapid Lock quick-release mechanism, which enables ultra-fast cymbal changes without needing to fully unscrew the clutch. Built tough for touring drummers, the HCL-205DQR (H) combines speed, security, and Pearl’s rock-solid engineering into one streamlined accessory.

Key Features

  • Drop Clutch Mechanism – Instantly closes hi-hats with a stick hit

  • Rapid Lock Quick-Release – Change top cymbals quickly without full disassembly

  • Secure Locking Nut – Keeps cymbals in place during aggressive play

  • Fits Standard 8mm Rods – Compatible with most major hi-hat stands

  • Durable Felt Inserts – Protect cymbals and ensure smooth response

  • Pearl Build Quality – Road-ready construction for professional use
