Evans ST Coated — Two-Ply Snare Batter with Extreme Dryness
The Evans ST Coated (Super Tough) is a two-ply coated snare batter that combines the durability of a dual-ply construction with vent holes for a very dry, fast-decaying attack. The two plies provide exceptional resistance to wear and pitting at the centre strike zone, while the vents prevent sustain from building up after the stroke. The result is a snare sound that is simultaneously tough and extremely dry — perfect for studio work or live applications where a controlled, dead-sounding snare is essential.
The heavy coated surface adds additional warmth and a slightly denser feel, while the two-ply build means this head will outlast most single-ply options under heavy use. A popular choice for session drummers and touring players who need a snare that sounds consistent, records clean, and lasts for a long time between changes.
-
Two-Ply Coated Build: Dual-ply construction for outstanding durability — resists wear and pitting under repeated rimshots and heavy backbeats.
-
Vent Holes: Perforations produce an extremely dry, fast-decaying tone — no external dampening required in any context.
-
Studio and Tour Ready: Long head life combined with a consistently dry, controlled tone — ideal for sessions and extended gigging.
