The DTX452K combines comfortable 7.5-inch drum pads, large 10-inch cymbal pads and the strongest playing specification in the series. Its adjustable layout gives beginners a compact kit without taking away the techniques they need to develop.
The DTX402 module combines 287 drum and percussion voices with 128 keyboard sounds. Its ten onboard kits can be edited and overwritten, giving you useful variety for practice, covers and first recording projects.
Yamaha’s TP70S snare responds across three zones: head, open rim and closed rim. That lets you practise standard hits, rimshots and cross-sticks on one pad, making the DTX452K the clear choice when snare expression matters.
The KP65 kick tower and included FP6110A bass-drum pedal provide physical beater movement and rebound. The pad also accommodates a double-foot pedal, so the setup can support more advanced footwork as your playing develops.
Ten built-in training functions work on timing, dynamics, endurance and song performance. Exercises such as Rhythm Gate, Song Part Gate and Fast Blast turn everyday practice into clear, measurable progress without requiring a subscription.
Use DTX402 Touch for visual kit editing and structured Challenge Mode practice. The module also supports play-along audio, private headphone practice and USB audio/MIDI, while Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share workflow helps capture performances on a compatible smart device.
The durable steel rack provides a stable foundation, with adjustable pad and cymbal placement to suit your reach. It also folds down when space is limited, making regular practice easier to fit into everyday life.
It is the best-equipped DTX402-series model for beginners and developing drummers who want conventional kick-pedal technique plus snare rimshot and cross-stick articulation.
Its head, open-rim and closed-rim zones trigger different snare articulations. This allows normal snare hits, rimshots and cross-stick techniques to be practised more realistically than on the single-zone pads supplied with the DTX402K and DTX432K.
The main upgrade is the TP70S three-zone snare. Both kits share the DTX402 module and use the KP65 kick tower with an included FP6110A pedal, so the DTX452K is primarily the choice for greater snare expression.
Yes. Yamaha specifies the KP65 kick pad as compatible with a double-foot pedal. A double pedal is not included; the kit is supplied with one FP6110A single pedal.
Yes. The module includes a PHONES/OUTPUT jack, an auxiliary input and USB audio/MIDI connectivity. Smart-device use with DTX402 Touch or Rec’n’Share may require a compatible cable or adaptor, depending on the device.
