An Evans G2 coated white 22-inch bass drum head: two 7-mil plies for a wide-open response, fat low end and lasting durability.
The Evans G2 Coated White bass drum batter combines the double-ply durability of the G2 series with a white coating that subtly softens attack and adds a touch of warmth to the low-end character. The coating takes the edge off the initial transient, producing a slightly rounder, more vintage-flavored tone that pairs beautifully with felt and soft plastic beaters. For drummers who want the sustain control of dual-ply construction alongside a mellow, studio-ready attack, the G2 Coated White is an excellent choice.
Constructed from two plies of 7-mil film, this head handles high-impact playing without sacrificing tonal consistency. The coated surface also proves more forgiving with mic placement — the smoother attack is easier to mix and sits naturally in acoustic and semi-acoustic music contexts. Whether you’re recording a folk album or playing a low-volume ballroom gig, the G2 Coated White delivers the warmth and body of a classic bass drum sound.
