Evans EMAD Heavy Weight Bass Drum Batter — Maximum Impact, Adjustable Dampening
The Evans EMAD Heavy Weight takes the EMAD adjustable dampening platform and adds the heaviest, most durable batter construction in the EMAD range. The reinforced heavy-weight film is built to withstand the most aggressive beater impacts across the longest touring schedules without developing the dents, pitting, or structural failures that standard weight heads show under sustained heavy use. The EMAD ring system remains fully adjustable — all three dampening configurations are available from the front of the drum.
For drummers who use hard plastic beaters or who simply hit very hard over long periods, the Heavy Weight provides the peace of mind of a head that genuinely does not need to be changed mid-tour. The heavier film also produces a slightly darker, more focused kick attack compared to standard-weight EMAD heads — a subtle tonal change that sits well in dense rock and metal mixes.
