Remo Emperor Coated 16-inch drumhead: two 7-mil plies for a warm, full tone with more durability than a single-ply head.
The Most Popular Two-Ply Head: The Remo Emperor Coated
For decades, the Remo Emperor Coated has been the go-to choice for drummers seeking a versatile, durable, and musical tom sound. It is one of the most recorded drumheads in history, celebrated for its perfect balance of tone and longevity.
The head is constructed with two plies of 7-mil coated film, which provides a warm, deep sound with a focused attack. This two-ply design not only offers increased durability for heavier players but also shortens the sustain just enough to create a punchy, articulate tone that sits perfectly in a mix.
From pop and R&B to the heaviest rock, the Emperor Coated is the reliable, professional standard for a powerful floor tom sound.
-
Industry Standard Tone: Delivers the warm, open, and resonant tom sound that has been a staple on countless recordings across all genres.
-
Durable Two-Ply Construction: Made with two plies of 7-mil film, offering excellent durability and a powerful, focused attack that is ideal for live performance.
-
Coated for Warmth: The classic Remo coating helps to slightly dampen high-frequency overtones, adding warmth and focus to the overall sound.
-
Ultimate Versatility: The perfect middle-ground head, providing more durability and focus than a single-ply head, but more resonance and warmth than pre-dampened heads.
-
Professional Choice: A top choice for both recording studios and live stages due to its consistent, reliable, and musical performance.
