Promark Hot Rods: 19 medium birch dowels bundled together for a sound between a stick and a brush, perfect for quiet settings.

Hot Rods — The Original Multi-Rod

ProMark Hot Rods are bundles of thin wooden dowels bound together to produce a sound that sits between a drumstick and a brush — significantly quieter than a stick but with more attack and projection than a brush, making them an essential tool for volume-sensitive performance situations.

Hot Rods are equally at home in an acoustic coffee shop set, a studio session requiring a lighter touch, or as an alternative to brushes for drummers who want more defined articulation and rim sound than brushes can provide.

  • Between Stick and Brush: Quieter than a standard drumstick but with more attack and definition than a wire brush — a versatile middle ground.

  • Wooden Dowel Bundle: Multiple thin dowels create a soft, blended tone with a characteristic “spread” attack on drums and cymbals.

  • Volume Control: Ideal for acoustic, low-volume, and recording settings where a full stick would overwhelm the blend.
