Professional Features, Versatile Sound, and German Craftsmanship at an Incredible Value

The SELA SE013 Varios Cajon is a groundbreaking instrument that defies expectations for an “entry-level” cajon, offering an impressive array of professional features, rich sound variations, and high-end German craftsmanship. Sela has engineered the Varios to deliver a massive bass and an assertive snare drum sound, making it suitable for a vast range of musical styles, from flamenco and Latin grooves to pop and acoustic music.

The cajon’s extra-strong body is constructed from 15mm, 11-ply birch, a premium material known for its exceptional resonance, stability, and clear tonal characteristics, ensuring a robust and vibrant sound chamber. The playing surface, or tapa, features a varnish-coated wooden surface with a modern design, providing a responsive and durable strike zone. A key innovation is the removable Sela Snare System, which allows players to easily take out or reinsert the snare wires, offering almost infinite possibilities for sound variations—from a crisp, assertive snare sound to a pure, traditional cajon tone emphasizing the wood’s resonance. The Varios also boasts special pre-adjusted Clap Corners, which produce distinct, sharp clicking sounds that further expand its percussive palette. With its individually adjustable snare sound and non-slip rubber feet, the SELA SE013 Varios Cajon stands out as a versatile, high-quality, and incredibly value-packed instrument “Made in Germany.”
