Mike Portnoy 5A ActiveGrip — Progressive Grip for Demanding Stages

The ProMark Mike Portnoy 5A ActiveGrip applies moisture-activated ActiveGrip coating to Mike’s signature 5A hickory stick — giving the Dream Theater co-founder a grip that improves under the intense, sweaty conditions of two-hour-plus progressive rock performances.

The ActiveGrip coating activates as hands warm up and humidity builds, getting tackier exactly when a standard lacquered stick would start to slip — making the TXMP420XW-AG the ideal choice for high-energy players who prioritise grip security without compromising feel.

ActiveGrip Coating: Moisture-activated surface gets tackier as you sweat — grip improves exactly when you need it most.
Mike Portnoy Spec: 5A dimensions co-developed with Mike for balance, power, and comfortable control across demanding progressive rock performances.
Select American Hickory: Warm tone and shock absorption built for long, demanding sets at high volume levels.
