Responsive 7.5-inch drum pads and large 10-inch cymbal pads give new players a comfortable target area and a clear, consistent response. The layout adjusts to suit different heights, helping good technique feel natural from the first session.
The DTX402 module combines 287 drum and percussion voices with 128 keyboard sounds. Its ten onboard kits can be edited and overwritten, so you can shape a setup for rock, pop, electronic music or focused practice.
The beaterless KU100 kick unit avoids the physical strike of a conventional kick tower, reducing impact noise and floor vibration. It is the DTX402-series choice for bedrooms, shared homes and upstairs practice spaces where neighbour-friendly playing matters most.
Ten built-in training functions work on timing, dynamics, endurance and song performance. Exercises such as Rhythm Gate, Song Part Gate and Fast Blast turn everyday practice into clear, measurable progress without requiring a subscription.
Yamaha’s DTX402 Touch app provides a visual way to adjust kit sounds and access its Challenge Mode training programme. It makes deeper settings easier to understand and gives developing drummers a structured route through new skills.
Connect music through the auxiliary input, practise privately through headphones, or send audio and MIDI to a computer over USB. Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share workflow also helps you capture performances with a compatible smart device.
The durable steel rack is stable while you play, adjustable around your reach and foldable when space is needed. Together with the KU100 and headphone output, it makes the DTX402K especially easy to live with at home.
It is ideal for beginners and home-practice drummers who place low impact noise above realistic kick-pedal feel. You still get the same DTX402 module, sounds, training functions and app compatibility used across the series.
The DTX402K uses Yamaha’s quiet, beaterless KU100 kick unit. The DTX432K replaces it with a KP65 kick tower and an FP6110A bass-drum pedal for a more conventional pedal response, but with more physical impact noise.
Yes. Connect headphones to the module’s PHONES/OUTPUT jack for private practice. The pads still make some physical stick noise, but the KU100 helps keep kick impact and floor vibration lower than a beater-and-pad setup.
Yes. The module has ten editable kits, and compatible devices can use Yamaha’s DTX402 Touch app for a more visual editing experience. Changes can be stored in the module by overwriting a kit.
Yes. The USB TO HOST connection carries audio and MIDI to a computer, allowing the kit to record into compatible software or trigger virtual instruments. A USB cable and any device-specific adaptor are sold separately unless stated in the package.
