Evans G2 Coated — Two-Ply Control with Warm, Textured Tone
The Evans G2 Coated brings the controlled, punchy two-ply construction of the G2 Clear together with a white coating that adds warmth, depth, and a slightly brighter initial attack than the clear version. The coating adds texture to the playing surface, giving brushes excellent articulation while thickening the overall character of the drum sound — a combination that has made the G2 Coated one of the most popular snare batter heads in use today.
On toms, the G2 Coated delivers the same focused sustain control as the clear G2 with the additional warmth and body that a coated surface provides. On snare, it is a go-to choice for rock, pop, and funk — the combination of two-ply control and coated warmth produces a full-bodied crack with minimal unwanted ring. A genuinely versatile head that works across nearly every genre and application.
-
Dual 7-Mil Construction: Two-ply build controls sustain and produces a focused, punchy attack suitable for rock, pop, funk, and studio work.
-
White Coating: Adds warmth and body to the tone while providing a textured surface that responds naturally to brushes.
-
Tom and Snare Versatility: Works equally well as a tom batter or snare batter — one of the most adaptable heads in the Evans range.
