Evans Power Center — Coated Snare Batter with Reinforced Strike Zone
The Evans Power Center is a single-ply 10-mil coated snare batter head with a reinforced centre dot — a small patch of additional film laminated to the exact centre of the playing surface. This central reinforcement significantly increases durability in the highest-impact zone of the head, extending its usable life while adding a slight mid-range punch and centre focus to the drum’s overall tone. The rest of the head retains the open, resonant character of a single-ply design.
The Power Center is the answer for drummers who love the open tone of a single-ply head but find that it wears out too quickly under heavy backbeats. The coating provides warm tone and excellent brush response across the full surface, while the centre dot takes the punishment of repeated rimshots and cross-stick strokes without compromising the head’s integrity. A workhorse snare batter for gigging drummers who need both tone and durability.
-
Centre Reinforcement Dot: Additional film laminated at the strike centre extends head life under heavy backbeats and rimshots without affecting overall tone.
-
Single 10-Mil Ply: Open, resonant character — the full, natural tone of a single-ply head with added longevity at the centre.
-
White Coating: Adds warmth and brush response across the full playing surface — natural feel for snare work in any style.
