Evans Genera Coated — Standard Coated Snare Batter

The Evans Genera Coated is a straightforward, no-frills single-ply coated snare batter head — the starting point for understanding what a quality coated snare head sounds and feels like. The standard 10-mil construction and white coating produce a warm, open snare tone with natural sustain and good brush response — everything expected from a well-made coated head at a sensible price point.

It suits a wide range of playing styles and musical contexts, from pop and rock to jazz and country, and responds naturally to both sticks and brushes. The Genera Coated is the head to reach for when you need a reliable, honest snare sound without any special construction features or tonal gimmicks — just a quality coated head that does its job.

  • Single 10-Mil Coated Ply: Standard construction for a warm, open snare tone with natural sustain and brush-responsive texture.

  • White Coating: Adds warmth and body to the sound — slightly fuller and darker than a clear equivalent head.

  • Versatile All-Rounder: Works across pop, rock, jazz, country, and general-purpose snare applications without any special tuning or dampening requirements.
