Evans EMAD2 Clear Bass Drum Batter — Two-Ply Power with Adjustable Dampening

The Evans EMAD2 is the two-ply version of the EMAD system, pairing the innovative Externally Mounted Adjustable Damper ring with a two-ply clear bass drum head construction. The dual-ply build adds significant impact resistance and attack punch over the single-ply EMAD, while the adjustable dampening ring system still allows instant, tool-free dampening adjustments from the front of the drum. It is the preferred EMAD option for hard-hitting rock, metal, and touring drummers who need maximum head durability in addition to controllable dampening.

The two-ply construction also adds a tighter, faster-responding low-end attack compared to the single-ply EMAD — the additional film mass snaps back more quickly after each beater impact, contributing to the percussive definition that sits so well in a recorded or reinforced kick drum sound. The EMAD system’s included narrow and wide dampening rings give three total configurations for adapting to any room or mix.

• Two-Ply Clear Construction: Dual-ply bass drum head adds impact resistance, attack punch, and durability over the single-ply EMAD — preferred for heavy players.

• Externally Mounted Adjustable Damper: EMAD ring system provides three dampening configurations without opening the drum — adapts instantly to any acoustic environment.

• Tighter, Faster Attack: Two-ply mass snaps back more quickly after beater impact — produces a more defined, percussive kick attack in recorded and reinforced settings.
