An Evans G1 clear 22-inch bass drum head: a single 10-mil ply with bright attack, warm sustain and a broad tuning range.
The Evans G1 Clear bass drum batter is the quintessential single-ply bass head — delivering a warm, open, and resonant tone that has powered countless recordings and live performances for decades. Constructed from a single ply of 10-mil film, the G1 Clear produces a rich fundamental with generous sustain and a natural attack that sits beautifully in any mix. The clear finish keeps the tone pure and uncoloured, letting your drum’s natural wood character and shell depth come through with minimal interference.
Ideal for jazz, acoustic pop, blues, and any style where an unprocessed, musical bass drum tone is the goal, the G1 Clear rewards skilled technique and dynamic playing. It responds equally well to beaters of all shapes — felt, wood, plastic, or rubber — adapting to your preferred attack characteristic. Whether used with or without additional muffling, the G1 Clear offers a versatile tonal canvas that players around the world trust for its consistency and reliability.
