The Remo Artbeat “Dilate” Artist Collection 14″ Drum Head is a unique and high-performance snare drumhead that combines Remo’s renowned sound technology with visually stunning artwork.1 Part of the “Artbeat Artist Collection,” this drumhead features original artwork titled “Dilate” by acclaimed drummer and artist Aric Improta.2

This head is functionally based on a variation of the Remo Controlled Sound (CS) Black Dot series, which is known for its focus and durability.

Key Features for Art and Controlled Sound

The “Dilate” drumhead is engineered to offer both exceptional aesthetics and professional-grade snare drum performance:

• Construction: The head is a single-ply design, typically constructed with one ply of 10-mil Skyndeep White Suede film.3

• Built-in Dampening (Reverse Clear Dot): Crucially, it features a 5-mil clear reverse dot (also referred to as a “reverse clear dot” or “bottom dot”).4 This reinforces the center hitting area for added durability and controls overtones, providing a focused, articulate sound with a quick decay.5

• Skyndeep Graphic Imaging Technology: The “Dilate” artwork by Aric Improta is applied using Remo’s proprietary Skyndeep Graphic Imaging Technology.6 This process embeds the art into the drumhead’s film, ensuring the image will not chip, crack, or peel, even with aggressive playing. It also ensures the art does not negatively impact the head’s sonic performance.

• Tone Profile: The combination of the Suede film (which offers a slightly warmer, drier sound than clear film) and the reverse dot provides full controlled tones, making it excellent for cutting through loud mixes while maintaining articulation.7

• Artwork by Aric Improta: The drumhead features original artwork by Aric Improta, known for his drumming with bands like Fever 333 and Night Verses, as well as his impressive artistic talents.8 The “Dilate” design is a part of his signature collection.

• Manufacturing Distinction: This drumhead is manufactured in Remo’s facility in the USA, adhering to the same high standards as their other professional-grade heads.

The Remo Artbeat “Dilate” 14″ Snare Drum Head is an excellent choice for drummers who want the focused, durable performance of a Controlled Sound head combined with a completely unique and eye-catching visual aesthetic.
