Remo Artbeat Salem Artist Collection 14″ Drum Head (PE-0214-AB-009): Sonic Versatility with Striking Visuals

The Remo Artbeat Salem Artist Collection 14″ Drum Head (PE-0214-AB-009) is a unique and high-performance drumhead that combines Remo’s renowned sound technology with visually stunning artwork.1 Part of the “Artbeat Artist Collection,” this drumhead features original artwork by renowned drummer and artist Aric Improta.2 It is not just a standard cosmetic head; it is based on the popular Remo Ambassador drumhead, providing a classic, open, and versatile sonic foundation for the striking design.

Key Features for Art and Sound

The PE-0214-AB-009 drumhead is engineered to offer both exceptional aesthetics and professional-grade sound quality:

• Single-Ply 10mil Mylar Film Construction: The head is constructed with a single ply of 10mil clear Mylar film, the same as a standard Remo Ambassador. This single-ply design provides a great balance of open sound, resonance, sensitivity, and durability, allowing the drum’s natural tone to shine through.

• Skyndeep Graphic Imaging Technology: The “Salem” artwork by Aric Improta is applied using Remo’s proprietary Skyndeep Graphic Imaging Technology.3 This process embeds the art into the drumhead’s film, ensuring that the image will not chip, crack, or peel, even with aggressive playing.4 It also ensures the art does not negatively impact the head’s sonic performance, allowing the natural sound of the Ambassador head to shine through.

• Full Open Tones: Despite the graphic, this drumhead maintains the full, open tones characteristic of a clear Ambassador head. It provides a strong attack with a long, resonant sustain, making it a versatile choice for a variety of musical genres.

• Ideal for a Wide Range of Applications: The combination of sensitivity, resonance, and classic tone makes this head suitable for use as a batter head for snare drums and toms. Its striking visual appeal also makes it a great choice for drummers who want to customize the look of their kit for live performances and photoshoots.

• Artwork by Aric Improta: The drumhead features original artwork by Aric Improta, known for his drumming with bands like Fever 333 and Night Verses, as well as his impressive artistic talents.5 The “Salem” design is part of a larger collection of his work featured on Remo drumheads.

• Manufacturing Distinction: This drumhead is manufactured in Remo’s facility in the USA, adhering to the same high standards as their other professional-grade Ambassador heads.

The Remo Artbeat Salem Artist Collection 14″ Drum Head (PE-0214-AB-009) is a perfect blend of professional sound and personal expression, offering the durable, open-toned performance of a Remo Ambassador with a unique and eye-catching visual design.
