Meinl SB112 Big Apple Swing drumsticks: light hickory and an undersized acorn tip for a focused sound that lets cymbals breathe.
Crafted for the Swing Era Sound
The Meinl SB112 5B Big Apple Swing is a specialty stick inspired by the classic New York jazz tradition. With a longer taper and a carefully shaped barrel, it’s tuned to produce the light, singing cymbal sound and nimble snare response that defined big band and bebop drumming at its peak.
American Hickory provides the traditional backbone the style demands — warm, natural, and responsive. The acorn wood tip reinforces the vintage tonal character, creating the full, round ping that swing and jazz players have relied on for decades.
-
American Hickory: Classic hardwood chosen for its warm natural tone — the material of choice for traditional jazz sticks.
-
Acorn Wood Tip: Rich, round cymbal tone with the singing quality essential for swing and big band styles.
-
Big Apple Swing Profile: Specialty taper and barrel shaped for authentic swing-era cymbal articulation and light snare feel.
