Yamaha DS950 Double-Braced Bench-Style Drum Throne

The Yamaha DS950 Drum Throne is a top-tier professional-grade seating solution, engineered for the most discerning drummers who require the ultimate in comfort, unwavering stability, and advanced ergonomic support for marathon playing sessions and rigorous touring schedules.1 As the pinnacle of Yamaha’s drum throne lineup, it’s designed to provide a truly superior foundation that enhances performance and minimizes fatigue.

Unrivaled Comfort with Saddle-Style Seat

The DS950 stands out with its large, generously padded saddle-style seat. This ergonomic design cradles the drummer, offering exceptional support and stability while allowing for optimal leg movement, crucial for advanced foot techniques and double bass drumming. The high-density foam cushioning ensures long-lasting comfort, resisting compression even after hours of use. The seat is typically covered in a premium, durable, and slip-resistant synthetic leather or vinyl, which provides both a professional aesthetic and keeps the drummer securely positioned.

Exceptional Stability with Dual-Braced Quad Legs

Setting a new standard for stability, the DS950 features a robust four-leg design, with each leg being double-braced.2 This “quad-leg” configuration provides an incredibly wide and secure base, virtually eliminating any wobble or lateral movement.3 The heavy-duty construction of the legs, combined with extra-large, slip-resistant rubber feet, ensures maximum grip on any stage or studio surface, delivering uncompromised stability even during the most energetic performances.4

Precise and Reliable Height Adjustment

The DS950 utilizes a threaded rod height adjustment system, offering the most precise control over your throne height.5 This allows drummers to fine-tune their position down to the millimeter, ensuring optimal ergonomics and comfort. A heavy-duty memory clamp (or lock collar) securely fastens the throne at your chosen height, preventing any slippage or sinking during play. This feature also ensures quick and consistent setup every time. The wide height adjustment range accommodates virtually all drummers and setups.

Premium Build Quality for Demanding Professionals

Every component of the Yamaha DS950 reflects its professional pedigree. It features heavy-gauge steel construction throughout its base, legs, and connecting hardware, built to withstand the rigors of constant use, frequent transport, and the demands of professional touring. The attention to detail in its engineering ensures long-term reliability and performance.
