SELA SE174 Calinda Walnut Cajon

Warm Tones, Crisp Snares, and Exquisite Walnut Aesthetics

The SELA SE174 Calinda Walnut Cajon is a premium percussion instrument that beautifully combines rich, warm tonal characteristics with stunning visual aesthetics, all backed by Sela’s renowned “Made in Germany” quality. This cajon is designed for professional musicians and discerning players who seek a versatile instrument capable of delivering both deep, resonant bass and articulate snare sounds, making it ideal for a wide array of musical styles.

The cajon’s body is robustly constructed from 12mm, 9-ply birch, a high-quality wood known for its stability, resonance, and balanced tonal characteristics, ensuring a full and defined sound. The playing surface, or tapa, is crafted from exquisite Calinda Walnut veneer, a wood prized for its beautiful, distinctive grain patterns and its contribution to a warm, full-bodied sound with clear, yet not overly aggressive, high-end response. A key feature is the proven removable Sela Snare System. This innovative system allows players to easily take out or reinsert the snare traverse, offering individual adjustment of the snare sound—from a crisp, sensitive snap perfect for subtle articulation, to a more traditional, wood-focused tone. If desired, a second snare system can even be installed (sold separately) for a more dominant and extra-strong snare sound. The ergonomically beveled body edges not only enhance its refined appearance but also ensure a comfortable sitting position, allowing for extended playing sessions with ease. The SELA SE174 Calinda Walnut Cajon stands out for its exceptional tonal warmth, precise craftsmanship, and elegant design, making it a professional-grade choice for any musician.
