Tycoon Percussion Medium Rawhide Maracas TMS-70

A Classic Instrument for Rich, Full-Bodied Sound

The Tycoon Percussion Medium Rawhide Maracas are a staple for any percussionist’s collection, offering a classic, full-bodied sound that is versatile enough for a wide range of musical styles. They are an ideal choice for studio recording or for playing in settings that require a quiet to medium volume, delivering excellent projection and a traditional feel.

Craftsmanship and Sound

The shells of these maracas are made from natural rawhide, which is known for producing a fuller, drier sound with good grain.1 This material contributes to a classic maraca tone that is both crisp and warm. The handles are crafted from eco-friendly Siam Oak, a durable and sustainable wood that fits comfortably in the player’s hand. The maracas are filled with a new, specially designed material that produces a tight and crisp sound. They are sold in matching pairs, ensuring a balanced and consistent tone.2

Design and Usability

The TMS-70 maracas are the medium-sized version in Tycoon’s rawhide maraca lineup.3 Their dimensions and weight are carefully calibrated to provide a comfortable grip and a responsive feel. This makes them easy to play for extended periods without fatigue, whether you’re laying down a steady rhythm or adding intricate accents.

Versatility

These maracas are a must-have for percussionists, suitable for everything from traditional Latin rhythms to folk, acoustic, and pop music. Their classic sound and durable construction make them a reliable instrument for both professional and recreational use.
