The 10"x6.5" and 12"x7" Hyper-Drive toms combine modern and traditional drum sizes for a distinctive sound with plenty of clarity. Being shallower, they sit lower over the 22"x18" bass drum, which gives you more flexibility in where you place them and broader visibility across the kit.
The shells combine birch outer plies with two inner plies of maple: 6mm, 4-ply birch + 2-ply maple for the toms, floor toms and snare, and 7mm, 5-ply birch + 2-ply maple for the bass drum. You get the warmth of maple with the clarity of birch, for tones that are clean, articulate and well balanced, and a kit whose voices blend clearly.
Zinc die-cast hoops are denser and more consistent in shape than triple-flanged hoops, so the tension rods always seat properly. Tuning is easier and more consistent, and you get a crisper attack, clear and resonant highs and much more powerful rimshots.
The Star-Cast Mounting System gives the toms maximum resonance and stability, so they sing freely without being choked by the mount. Its streamlined design also makes it easier to position the toms closer together, for a more comfortable reach around the kit.
This limited Starclassic Performer comes in Dusty Rose (DRO), a subdued pink that balances playfulness with elegance. Paired with black nickel shell hardware, it gives the kit a modern, sophisticated look that stands out on stage.
The kit includes the matching MBSS55BN snare in Dusty Rose, with the same maple/birch shell. Ten-lug die-cast hoops, a black nickel MLS30A strainer and 20-strand Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wires give a crisp, sensitive response, and it comes fitted with an EVANS G1 Coated batter and Resonant 300 snare-side head.
Starclassic Performer toms are fitted with EVANS G1 coated batters and Tama clear single-ply Power Craft II resonant heads, and the bass drum has an EVANS clear EQ4 batter with a Tama resonant head and muffle ring, so the kit sounds finished as soon as you tune it up.
Six drums in Dusty Rose: a 22"x18" bass drum (without tom holder base), 10"x6.5" and 12"x7" Hyper-Drive toms, 14"x12" and 16"x14" floor toms and the matching 14"x5.5" MBSS55BN snare, plus two MC69 single tom attachments. This is a shell pack, so stands, pedals, a throne and cymbals are sold separately.
The bass drum has no tom holder base. Each rack tom mounts with one of the two included MC69 single tom attachments, which clamp onto a 15.9mm to 28.6mm stand pipe, such as a cymbal stand, and use an Omni-ball joint so you can set the angle freely.
The Tama Iron Cobra 600 HV5WN hardware pack: an HP600D Iron Cobra 600 pedal with Duo Glide cam and double chain drive, an HH605 Iron Cobra 600 hi-hat stand, an HS80W Roadpro snare stand and two HC83BW Roadpro boom cymbal stands, which can also carry the toms with the MC69 attachments. Tick the option on this page to add it to your cart with the shell pack.
Toms that are shallower than standard depths, here 10"x6.5" and 12"x7". Tama designs them to combine modern and traditional drum sizes for clarity, setup flexibility and broader visibility.
