Broadkaster was Gretsch’s flagship voice through the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Today’s Ridgeland-built instrument brings that character forward with a warm, dense and balanced response that stays expressive from a light touch to a full performance.
The maple/poplar/maple 3-ply shell uses an interior-ply scarf joint for structural integrity and Gretsch Silver Sealer inside. The lightweight construction responds quickly while retaining the full, woody centre Broadkaster players expect.
Hand-finished roundover bearing edges place more of the drumhead in contact with the shell. That relationship emphasises a deeper fundamental and gives the kit its rich, rounded and unmistakably warm voice.
Toms use Gretsch 302 hoops: 3 mm double-flanged steel hoops that are sturdier than classic Stick Chopper hoops while sounding more open and ambient than die-cast hoops. The result is lively sustain, useful overtones and confident rim response.
The Standard package uses heavy-duty lugs, spurs and straight-sided GTS tom suspension. The Vintage package adds period-inspired details such as internal mufflers, classic floor-tom brackets, a redesigned Rail Consolette, retractable spurs and bass-drum T-rods.
Choose bass drums from 16 to 26 inches in diameter, mounted toms from 10 to 15 inches and floor toms from 13 to 18 inches, with multiple depth choices across the range. TBDS will help turn those choices into one coherent working setup.
