The Evans EC Reverse Dot Coated snare batter combines two of Evans’ most effective control technologies into one head: the SST (Seamless Sustain Technology) dampening ring for ring and overtone control, and a reverse centre dot (reinforcement patch on the underside) for enhanced durability at the strike zone. The top playing surface is completely smooth, making the feel identical to a standard single-ply coated head while the underneath carries the structural work.

The SST ring tames the outer-edge overtones that can cause snare shimmer and ring buildup, while the reverse dot adds stiffness and projection to the centre strike zone. Together, they produce a focused, punchy, controlled snare tone with a consistent surface feel throughout — and a longevity advantage over a standard EC2S coated thanks to the additional reverse dot reinforcement at the highest-impact point.

SST Dampening Ring: Seamless Sustain Technology ring controls ring and overtones without affecting the central playing surface feel or response.
Reverse Centre Dot: Underside reinforcement patch adds durability and mid-range punch without any tactile transition on the top playing surface.
Smooth Consistent Surface: The top ply is completely uniform — the control technologies work from below, leaving the playing feel of a clean, natural coated head.
