A deep 8-inch snare for a big backbeat
At 14"x8", the BST148 is deeper than any snare in the regular Metalworks line-up. The extra depth gives a bigger, fuller-bodied sound, so your backbeat has weight as well as the cut of a steel shell.
Chrome steel shell with a centre ridge
The 1.0mm steel shell is finished in chrome, with a ridge formed around its centre, giving the BST148 a classic steel-snare look that stands out on stage.
Triple flanged hoops, 8-hole
The chrome MFH14-8 triple flanged steel hoops (8-hole) keep tuning straightforward and give a "wetter", more open sound than die-cast hoops.
20-strand snare wires
MS20R14S 20-strand regular carbon steel snare wires give a full, crisp snare response across the head.
All-chrome hardware, ready to play
MSL60S lugs and the MUS65A strainer with MUS60B butt end are chrome to match the shell. The strainer lets you set wire tension and switch the snares off, and the drum comes fitted with TAMA Original heads.

What is included?

Is it a limited edition?
Yes. Tama released the chrome BST148 as a limited Metalworks product. Ask us about current stock.
How is it different from the matte black Metalworks snares?
The regular Metalworks snares are matte black with matte black hardware, in sizes up to 14"x6.5". The BST148 is a deeper 14"x8" with a chrome finish and chrome hardware.
Will it fit my snare stand?
Yes. It is a standard 14-inch snare, so it fits any snare stand that takes a 14" drum. Check that your stand's basket opens wide enough for an 8-inch-deep drum.
