The Evans Genera Dry Coated snare batter combines a standard single-ply 10-mil construction with small vent holes that allow air to escape instantly on impact, producing a dry, fast-decaying snare sound without the need for any external dampening. The coated surface adds warmth and brush response, while the vents eliminate the ring and sustain that can be problematic in certain live or recording contexts.

The Genera Dry sits between the fully open G1 Coated and the ultra-dry HD Dry — a natural, warm-sounding head with enough sustain control to function cleanly in most settings. It is particularly well-suited to funk, hip-hop, and soul drumming where a tight, clean snare with a natural coated feel is the target sound, or for any session where the snare needs to sit back in the mix rather than project aggressively.

Vent Holes: Small perforations allow instant air escape on impact — kills sustain naturally without tape or gels.
Single 10-Mil Coated Ply: Warm, natural playing surface with open-head feel — the dryness comes from the vents, not from coating weight or dampening patches.
Natural, Controlled Tone: Warm, fast-decaying snare sound ideal for funk, soul, studio sessions, and any setting where a clean, tight snare is the goal.
