Schlagwerk Big Brush #5 Cajon

Schlagwerk Big Brush #5 Cajon

Enhanced Bass, Articulate Brushes, and Expansive Sound for Nuanced Performance

The Schlagwerk Big Brush #5 Cajon is a specialized and enlarged instrument meticulously designed to deliver an exceptional experience for brush playing, while also providing a deeper, fuller bass response. Developed by Schlagwerk, renowned for their dedication to percussion innovation, this cajon offers drummers and percussionists an unparalleled level of sensitivity, articulation, and rich tonal depth, making it perfect for expressive rhythmic textures.

The cajon’s body is typically crafted from high-quality birch, known for its resonant and balanced tonal properties. Its “Big” designation indicates larger dimensions, which contribute to a more resonant bass tone and increased overall volume. The playing surface, or tapa, is specifically engineered with a unique texture and material combination (often a specialized veneer or composite) that optimizes the friction and response for brushes, producing a highly desirable “swish” and “sizzle” sound with incredible clarity. Inside, the snare system is often modified or finely tuned to provide an exceptionally sensitive and even response across the entire playing surface, ensuring that every delicate stroke of the brush translates into clear, audible percussion. The combination of its specialized surface, sensitive snare, resonant body, and enhanced bass makes the Schlagwerk Big Brush #5 Cajon an indispensable tool for jazz, acoustic, folk, and studio musicians who rely on the subtle, expressive, and full-bodied capabilities of brushes.
