PureSound Custom 20-strand 14-inch snare wires (P1420): medium-gauge steel wires with evenly spaced coils for a consistent snare response.

Evans snare wires are engineered to deliver consistent, responsive snare sensitivity across a wide dynamic range — from delicate ghost notes to powerful backbeats. Crafted with precisely calibrated steel strands, Evans snare wires make clean, even contact across the full diameter of the resonant head, producing a crisp, defined snare response that holds up in every musical context. Available in multiple strand counts and configurations to suit 14″ snare drums of different depths and playing styles.

Replacing worn or damaged snare wires is one of the most cost-effective upgrades a snare drummer can make — fresh wires immediately restore sensitivity, articulation, and the tight crack that defines a great snare sound. Evans wires are built for durability and consistent performance, and the straightforward design makes installation quick and straightforward on any snare drum with standard throw-off hardware.
