The Evans EC2S Clear (Extra Clear 2-Ply, SST) is engineered specifically for drummers who need a naturally controlled, punchy tone without the need for tape, moon gels, or damping rings. The secret is Evans’ SST — Seamless Sustain Technology — a thin film ring bonded between the two plies of 7-mil clear film at the outer edge of the head. This pre-built dampener absorbs unwanted overtones and ring at the source, leaving a clean, focused mid-range attack that cuts through a live mix effortlessly.
