Pearl rolls the chrome-steel shell to a 1.0mm thickness for the character this FireCracker is built around: bright accents, a sizzling edge and a tight, sensitive centre that stays articulate at energetic tunings.
Pearl’s SR-018 strainer makes the drum useful far beyond a single accent sound. Keep the wires engaged for a tight piccolo-style crack, then disengage them quickly for dry timbale-style colours and percussive phrases.
CL-55 bridge lugs minimise their contact with the shell, reducing restriction so the steel body can respond freely. Steel lug nuts, 1.6mm hoops and six T-061L tension rods per side give this compact drum a dependable, focused tuning platform.
The S-032 snare unit uses 12 strands of high-carbon steel sized specifically for a 10-inch drum. It responds cleanly to light strokes while reinforcing the short, crisp articulation that gives the FCS1050 its unmistakable effects-snare character.
It produces a high-pitched, piercing crack with bright steel-shell attack, fast sensitivity and a short, focused response.
It is an effects snare, making it ideal as a side or auxiliary voice. It can also serve players who specifically want a very compact, high-pitched primary snare.
The shell is rolled 1.0mm chrome steel in a 10-inch diameter by 5-inch depth.
Yes. Disengaging the SR-018 strainer removes the snare-wire response and opens up a dry, timbale-style voice.
