Legendary Gretsch-Formula Maple With 2025 Hardware — A 5-Piece Shell Pack With Matching Snare.
Gretsch-formula maple
With its sleek, innovative hardware and the legendary Gretsch-formula shell, Catalina Maple is a favourite among players who want a terrific-sounding Gretsch drum set. The shells are 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple.
30° bearing edges for a warm, round tone
Every shell is cut with 30-degree bearing edges. Compared with a sharper 45-degree edge, a 30-degree edge keeps more of the shell in contact with the drumhead, so the drums sound warmer and rounder, with fewer overtones and more of each drum's fundamental pitch. The result is a fat, focused tone with controlled sustain.
GTS tom suspension
The upgraded 2025 low-profile GTS tom suspension system mounts the 10-inch and 12-inch toms off the shell. The toms and floor tom use low-profile leg brackets and Gretsch T-Wing nuts and bolts.
“Gas cap” bass drum mount
The bass drum carries the “gas cap” mount plate with a “G” memory lock, along with rubber-isolated die-cast claws and telescopic spurs. A single cymbal mount with a 12.7mm L-arm is included.
2.3mm hoops and Full Range throw-off
The snare and toms have 2.3mm triple-flanged hoops. The 14x6.5-inch snare uses Gretsch's newly designed 2025 Full Range throw-off and butt plate.
Walnut Glaze lacquer
The shells are finished in Walnut Glaze lacquer, and the bass drum has maple hoops with matching lacquer. Drums come fitted with Remo UT Ambassador heads: coated batter heads on snare and toms, and a clear batter with a coated white Gretsch front head on the bass drum.
That Great Gretsch Sound — Since 1883
Gretsch has been making drums since 1883, when Friedrich Gretsch opened a small music shop in Brooklyn, New York, making banjos, drums and tambourines. Fred W. Gretsch, the founder’s great-grandson, later bought the company back and returned it to the family.
Gretsch drums have been played by Max Roach, Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Jimmy Cobb and Charlie Watts, and its USA drums are built in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
A 22"x16" bass drum, 10"x7" and 12"x8" rack toms, a 16"x16" floor tom and a matching 14"x6.5" snare drum, with the tom holder and a single cymbal mount. Stands, pedals and cymbals are sold separately.
