Attach the EAD10 sensor to your bass drum and you have a high-quality stereo image of your entire kit in seconds, without the usual microphones, cables and mixers. Hear it through headphones or a PA, and record to the module, a smart device, a USB flash drive or a computer.
The sensor unit combines a specially developed XY stereo microphone with a bass drum trigger. Its newly developed capsule handles very high sound pressure and resists noise, and the custom preamp is designed to draw out the full dynamic range of your kit with a balance ideal for recording.
Large knobs give you volume and Scene control mid-performance, and LED-lit reverb, effect and trigger controls show your settings clearly, even on a dark stage. Choose from 50 preset and 200 user Scenes, 11 reverbs, 21 mic effects, 10 trigger effects and 757 voices, with a high-performance headphone amp built in.
Play along with your favourite music from a smart device over AUX or USB. With the free Rec'n'Share app for iOS and Android you can add a metronome, record audio and video, edit and upload your performances.
Connect a speaker to the EAD10's outputs and it works as a simple PA, so you don't have to spend time mic-ing drums for a live performance. Plug in a USB flash drive to record your playing for up to about 90 minutes per file.
Connect up to six triggers and pads, including the sensor's bass drum trigger, to bring in percussion, electronic sounds and loops and expand your range of expression.
Talkback lets the sensor's microphone pick up your voice at the press of a button on the main unit or with a pedal, so you can speak to students or narrate videos without changing your setup.
Pair the EAD10 with mesh heads, low-volume cymbals and triggers on each drum: the drums stay quiet in the room while realistic drum sounds come through your headphones and speakers.

The EAD50 is Yamaha's next-generation flagship, with the DSU50 sensor, mic inputs, eight individual outputs, 8-in/10-out USB audio, a sampler, looper and recorder. The EAD10 sensor is not compatible with the EAD50. Use the selector on this page to compare, or ask us to demo both.
