LP LP234B Afuche Cabasa Large Wood

LP LP234B Afuche/Cabasa: The Classic Percussive Rattle

The LP LP234B Afuche/Cabasa is a professional-grade percussion instrument, originally named the Afuche by LP, that is known for its unique, metallic, rattling sound. This large, wooden model is meticulously crafted to deliver a clear, textured sound, making it an essential tool for adding percussive drive to a wide range of musical styles, from Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms to pop, funk, and jazz. Its robust construction and classic tone make it a reliable choice for both studio recordings and live performances.

Authentic Sound and Traditional Construction

The core of the LP LP234B’s design is its commitment to both authentic sound and professional-grade construction.

• Wooden Cylindrical Body: The cabasa features a textured, ridged stainless steel cylinder attached to a wooden handle. The large size of the cylinder provides a fuller, more resonant sound compared to smaller models.

• Steel Bead Chain: A series of tightly wrapped, loop-style steel bead chains surround the cylinder. The characteristic sound is produced by scraping the beads across the ridges of the cylinder by either rotating the beads with your hand or spinning the body of the cabasa itself.

• Wood Handle: The cabasa features a classic, comfortable wooden handle, providing a solid grip and a traditional aesthetic.

• Volume and Projection: The large size of this model (LP234B) is designed for maximum volume and projection, making it suitable for playing with louder ensembles.

Convenient and Practical Features

The LP LP234B Cabasa is engineered for maximum convenience and ease of use, with several thoughtful features that make it a practical choice for any musician.

• Afuche Name: LP originally developed this modern design and called it the Afuche, which is still included in its product name, honoring its contribution to modern percussion.

• Versatile Use: This instrument’s unique, rattling, rhythmic sound makes it an excellent choice for adding percussive texture to any musical piece. It is suitable for both intricate solo patterns and a solid, driving rhythmic backdrop.

• Easy to Play: While it takes practice to master the fluid rhythms, the design is inherently intuitive, making it a great instrument for all skill levels.

The LP LP234B Afuche/Cabasa is a perfect blend of robust durability, vibrant sound, and authentic design, making it a valuable addition to any percussionist’s gear.
