Sela Primera Series Black Cajon

SELA SE118 Primera Cajon – Burl

Exotic Looks, Professional Sound, and German Quality for Every Beat

The SELA SE118 Primera Cajon Burl is an exceptional instrument that blends a visually stunning design with professional-grade sound and the renowned “Made in Germany” quality. Designed for both aspiring and advanced percussionists, the Primera Burl delivers a clearly separated bass and snare sound, providing a robust rhythmic foundation for a wide array of musical genres, from acoustic and pop to folk and world music, all while standing out with its exquisite wood grain.

The cajon’s robust body is constructed from 12mm, 9-ply birch, a high-quality material known for its stability, resonance, and balanced tonal characteristics, ensuring a defined and full sound. The playing surface, or tapa, is also made from high-quality birch wood but features a striking Burl veneer finish. Burl wood is prized for its unique, swirling grain patterns, making each cajon visually distinct and adding a touch of exotic elegance. This surface offers a great response and an ideal playing feel for articulate slaps and nuanced finger rolls. A key feature is the proven removable Sela Snare System. This innovative system allows players to easily take out or reinsert the snare traverse, offering individual adjustment of the snare sound—from a crisp, assertive snap to a more subtle, woody tone. If desired, a second snare system can even be installed (sold separately) for a more dominant and extra-strong snare sound. The rounded corners not only give the cajon an elegant impression but also support an ergonomic sitting position, ensuring comfort during extended playing sessions. With its typical Sela sound, excellent workmanship, and remarkable features, the SELA SE118 Primera Cajon Burl stands as a top choice for anyone looking for a high-quality, versatile cajon with a unique aesthetic.
