Sela Primera Series Brown Cajon

SELA SE162 Primera Cajon – Brown

Clear Sound, German Precision, and a Classic Look for Every Beginner and Beyond

The SELA SE162 Primera Cajon in Brown is an excellent choice for anyone stepping into the world of cajon playing, offering a surprisingly professional sound and the renowned “Made in Germany” quality at an accessible price point. This model provides a well-defined separation between its bass and snare sounds, creating a solid rhythmic foundation for a diverse range of musical styles, from acoustic and pop to folk and world music.

The cajon’s robust body is constructed from 12mm, 9-ply birch, a high-quality and stable material that ensures a resonant and full sound. The playing surface, or tapa, is also made from high-quality birch wood and features a classic brown-grained finish that gives it a timeless and understated elegance. This surface offers a great response and an ideal playing feel for articulate slaps and nuanced finger rolls. A key feature is the proven removable Sela Snare System. This innovative system allows players to easily take out or reinsert the snare traverse, offering individual adjustment of the snare sound—from a crisp, assertive snap to a more subtle, woody tone. If desired, a second snare system can even be installed (sold separately) for a more dominant and extra-strong snare sound. The ergonomically beveled body edges not only contribute to its refined appearance but also support a comfortable sitting position, ensuring ease of play during extended sessions. The SELA SE162 Primera Cajon in Brown provides the typical Sela sound, excellent workmanship, and remarkable features, making it a top choice for both beginners and more experienced players seeking a reliable and expressive cajon with a classic aesthetic.
