Designed to fuel fast footwork, the Speed Cobra 910 combines extreme velocity with serious power through its long, lightweight footboard, and delivers that speed with less effort from you.

The Speed Cobra footboard is longer than the Iron Cobra's, so it accelerates the power and speed of the beater stroke with less physical effort, and its smoother surface lets your foot move with more precise control. The patented Recessed Setting places the footboard for the best balance between natural chain drive feel and lighter action, needing about 20% less exertion for the same power and feel.

The round Rolling Glide LiteSprocket weighs 40% less than Tama's previous Iron Cobra cam and revolves naturally and smoothly for a lighter, more responsive feel, driven by a durable double chain.

A spring pulled at an angle wastes energy. Tama's patented Swivel Spring Tight lets the base swivel freely with the spring, so it pulls straight through the entire stroke for an exceptionally smooth, light action.

The Super Spring needs less effort at the start of each stroke, so you feel a quicker response as the beater rebounds. Underneath the footboard, the Cobra Coil steel spring helps return the footboard and can be moved forward or backward on the base plate to fine-tune the feel.

The Speedo-Ring replaces the traditional nylon rocker cam with a built-in ball bearing rocker for less friction, and lets you set the footboard angle independently of the beater angle, which the Vari-Pitch beater holder adjusts on its own. The Quick-Hook makes set-up fast and lets the pedal go into its hard case without removing the beater.

Tama widened the frame so the pedal doesn't sway under aggressive playing: the shaft supports are 15mm wider and the under-plate about 12mm wider than the previous Cobra. The Para-Clamp II Pro's three-dimensional rubber grip holds the widest variety of bass drum hoops without scratching them, and its T-bolt sits on the side of the footboard so you can set up from the throne.

Oiles bearings, used in the aerospace industry, have even less friction than standard ball bearings, stop side-to-side motion and last longer. The two-piece Hinge Guard Block holds the bearing more evenly, minimising stress and maximising smoothness while adding to the pedal's sense of power.

The butadiene rubber head resists wear, keeps the beater light and gives a consistent, articulate sound with a strong attack. The thicker rubber keeps the sound fat yet focused, even at lower volumes.

The HP910LN comes with a specially designed hard carrying case, and thanks to the Quick-Hook it fits without taking off the beater.

The Tama Speed Cobra 910 HP910LN single pedal with its Accu-Strike Cobra beater and Cobra Coil, a hard carrying case.
The Speed Cobra 310 is a streamlined version of the 910, sharing the long footboard, Recessed Setting, LiteSprocket and double chain drive. The 910 also has the Swivel Spring Tight, the Speedo-Ring with independent Vari-Pitch beater angle, an Oiles bearing hinge, the Cobra Coil and a hard carrying case. Ask us to compare them in the showroom.
The Speed Cobra has a longer footboard than the Iron Cobra and a LiteSprocket that is 40% lighter than the previous Iron Cobra cam, for a lighter, faster feel. Try both in the showroom to find the feel you prefer.
