With direct drive, the tension first recedes, then increases steadily through the stroke. The Quick Adjusting Link slides into three positions, D1 to D3, so you can fine-tune the action to the way you play: moving from D1 to D3 increases the initial tension for a firmer start to each stroke.
The direct drive links the footboard straight to the beater, so every movement of your foot reaches the beater instantly. It's ideal if you want the most direct, connected feel for speed and control.
The frame and bearing cover are each smoothed and precision-made before assembly, so they line up exactly with the central axis of the shaft and ball bearings. The result is a smooth, even rotation on every stroke (U.S. Pat. 10529306).

Ball bearings at the tip of the footboard make the connection to the drive even smoother, so the pedal responds fluidly from the lightest touch to full power.
The Easy Access Auto Lock spring adjustment moves the knob up where you can reach it, which makes the usually fiddly job of setting spring tension simple. The knob locks at a 90-degree angle, so it can't loosen itself mid-gig (U.S. Pat. 10360881).
Add weight to the beater to get the sound and feel you want. Aluminium (3g) and brass (9g) weights clip on and off easily, and one of each comes with the pedal. (U.S. Pat. 9685146)
Set the beater angle and the footboard angle independently and freely, so you can get the reach and throw you like. The built-in angle checker makes it easy to find your settings again after transport or a change of kit.
Spikes on the heel of the pedal stop it from slipping while you play and give it extra stability (U.S. Pat. 9691367).
The pedal comes in its own semi-hard carrying case, with a drum key, so it travels safely between gigs and rehearsals.

The double chain drive gains tension gradually through the stroke for a smooth, flowing feel, and can be converted to belt drive with the included belt.
