• Can I use the DSU50 mic without the module?

  • Yes! Unlike the old EAD10, the new DSU50 uses a standard 5-pin XLR breakout cable. You can plug it directly into a standard studio audio interface or mixer (requires +48V phantom power).

• Will it work if I have two bass drums?

  • The DSU50 mounts to one bass drum. If you use a double pedal on a single bass drum, it works perfectly. If you have two physical bass drums, you will need to add a second trigger/mic to the second drum using the module’s extra inputs.

• Does it come with pads?

  • No, the EAD50 is a module and acoustic sensor system. Electronic drum pads (like Yamaha DTX pads) are sold separately.

• Is it difficult to operate live?

  • Not at all. The new “Live Set Mode” lets you program your kits, tempos, and backing tracks into a setlist. You can advance through your whole gig with a single foot switch hit!
