Tama Starclassic Bubinga 6pc Acoustic Drum Shell Pack – Gloss American Cherry

“Experience the sound of a legend that once shook the world, now reborn.”

The 2026 Limited Edition Tama Starclassic Bubinga marks the return of a legendary instrument that redefined the high-end drum market. Reborn as a revival model, this 6-piece shell pack features the original 9-ply, 6mm shell construction (7mm for the bass drum and snare) crafted from rare African Bubinga. This exceptionally hard wood is renowned for its massive low-end, incredible projection, and a dark, lustrous tonal character that few other materials can replicate. To preserve the shell’s natural resonance, the bass drum is designed without a tom holder base, and the toms feature deeper shell sizes to maximize the wood’s deep, aggressive punch.

Visually, the kit is a masterpiece, featuring an outer ply of Figured African Cherry finished in a striking Gloss African Cherry (GAC). The bold grain of the cherry wood provides a sharp contrast that is further elevated by the inclusion of Black Nickel hardware, giving the kit a commanding and modern presence. The setup includes a 22″x16″ bass drum, 10″x8″ and 12″x9″ rack toms, and both 14″x14″ and 16″x16″ floor toms, offering a wide tonal range suitable for heavy hitters and technical players alike.
