The Mapex Armory Series is an exciting realization of Mapex's hybrid shell concept, designed to deliver professional-grade tonal expression and features at an accessible price. This 6-piece "Studioease Fast" shell pack is built with 6-ply, 7.2mm Birch/Maple/Birch hybrid shells. The maple core provides familiar bite and sensitivity, while the birch inner and outer plies focus attack for a tight, modern, close-miked sound, effectively drying overtones.

A pivotal innovation is the SONIClear™ Bearing Edge, which allows drumheads to sit perfectly flat, producing a stronger, deeper fundamental pitch, effortless tuning, and a significantly expanded tuning range. Mapex further optimizes sound with varying inner bearing edge cuts: 45-degree for snares and mounted toms to increase attack, and 60-degree for floor toms and bass drums to emphasize low-end frequencies.

The "Studioease Fast" configuration includes a 22"x18" bass drum for powerful low-end projection, 10"x7" and 12"x8" rack toms for quick response, and 14"x12" and 16"x14" floor toms for articulate decay. This pack also includes a matching 14"x5.5" Tomahawk Steel Snare, highly acclaimed for its penetrating cut, versatility, and powerful rimshots.

Advanced hardware features include the SONIClear™ Suspension System for rack toms and SONIClear™ Floor Tom Feet, both designed to maximize resonance by preserving shell vibration. Low-Contact/Insulated Bass Drum Claws protect hoops and prevent rattling. The shell pack includes two TH800 Soniclear Tom Holders for easy and stable tom angle adjustment. All components feature a sleek chrome finish, complementing the visually striking Redwood Burst finish.
