Maple's sound is unmistakable. Decade's thin 6-ply, 5.4mm all-maple shells react quickly to the stroke, with resonant highs, thundering lows and strong midrange power and sensitivity.
Each shell is made with Pearl's Superior Shell Technology. The maple plies are bonded into 2-ply panels with overlapping scarf joints, saturated with Pearl's AcoustiGlue and formed in high-temperature molds under 1,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. Every shell is tested for flatness and roundness, so heads seat properly and the drums tune easily.
Pearl's original 45-degree edge blends attack, warmth and sustain through minimal head contact, for articulate sensitivity and smooth sustain.
The three-point Opti-Loc mount suspends each tom at two tuning points and one air vent, so the toms stay solid and stable while the shells resonate freely.
The BB-300/C double tom bracket and two Uni-Lock TH-900I/C tom arms let you place each tom independently, directly from the bass drum. Die-cast claws with nylon insulators protect the bass drum hoops.
Small, efficient NDL lugs hold tuning across every point without taking up much room on the shell, and triple-flanged hoops keep the tuning steady. Low-mass, low-contact hardware lets the maple shells perform at their best.
The 16"x16" floor tom sits on FTL-07R air suspension legs with R-40 feet, fitted to an FTB-07/C bracket. The toms come with Remo UT Clear heads and the bass drum with a Remo UT Powerstroke.
The 14"x5.5" snare has the same 6-ply, 5.4mm maple shell for strong tonal throw at high volume, 20-strand snare wires for sizzle and sensitivity, and an SR-700/C strainer for quick, rugged snare action on the fly.
The drums are finished in Deep Forest Burst, one of Pearl's multi-step, UV-cured lacquers. The outer maple veneer's grain is enhanced by the lacquer, for a look that matches the kit's sound.
A 22"x18" bass drum, 10"x7" and 12"x8" toms, 16"x16" floor tom and 14"x5.5" snare, with the BB-300/C tom bracket and two Uni-Lock TH-900I/C tom arms. It is a shell pack, so cymbals, stands, bass drum pedal and throne are sold separately; the photos show them only to illustrate a full setup.
We recommend Pearl's 530 series hardware, such as the HWP-535 hardware pack, which we stock. It gives you a bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand and cymbal stands to complete the kit. Ask us for a matching hardware and cymbal package.
