Alesis Nitro Ultimate XL 10-Piece Electronic Drum Kit with Stand-Mounted Hi-Hat and Bluetooth

Stand-Mounted Hi-Hat System — Familiar Playing Feel

The Nitro Ultimate XL features a 10″ dual-zone stand-mounted hi-hat cymbal compatible with many standard acoustic hi-hat stands (sold separately). This design supports familiar hi-hat techniques such as gradual opening and closing movements, foot splashes, and half-open articulations while providing a playing experience that more closely resembles a traditional acoustic hi-hat setup.

Expanded Cymbal Configuration — Multi-Zone Performance

The kit includes two 12″ dual-zone crash cymbals and a 14″ triple-zone ride cymbal, each equipped with choke functionality. Multiple trigger zones support a wider range of playing techniques, while the larger cymbal sizes may feel more familiar to drummers accustomed to acoustic drum setups.

Dual-Zone Mesh Drum Pads — Responsive & Versatile

The layout features a 12″ dual-zone mesh snare pad and four 10″ dual-zone mesh tom pads. Dual-zone triggering allows separate sounds to be assigned to the head and rim zones, supporting rimshot techniques, percussion assignments, and expanded sound customization.

8″ Mesh Kick Tower — Dedicated Bass Drum Response

The kit includes an 8″ mesh kick tower that provides a dedicated bass drum playing surface while maintaining the reduced acoustic volume advantages of an electronic drum kit. A bass drum pedal is required and sold separately.

Reinforced Steel Rack — Stable Playing Platform

The Nitro Ultimate XL is built around a reinforced steel rack fitted with locking clamps to help maintain stability during practice and performance. The adjustable design allows the kit to be configured for a wide range of playing positions while remaining compact enough for home studios, practice rooms, and educational environments.

The Nitro Ultimate XL Module

The included module provides access to 52 ready-to-use drum kits — 36 factory and 16 user-configurable — and more than 640+ professionally designed drum, cymbal, percussion, and electronic sounds developed in collaboration with BFD. USB-MIDI connectivity and included BFD Player software with BFD Player Core Library and BFD Player Dark Mahogany Expansion Pack allow integration with computers for recording, practice, and virtual instrument workflows.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming

Bluetooth audio functionality allows music, backing tracks, and lesson content to be streamed directly from compatible mobile devices. This enables convenient practice alongside songs, online lessons, and other audio sources without requiring a wired auxiliary connection.

Why It Works

The Nitro Ultimate XL combines a stand-mounted hi-hat system, dual-zone mesh drum pads, and multi-zone cymbals to provide a more natural playing experience while retaining the convenience and reduced acoustic volume of an electronic drum kit. The expanded pad and cymbal configuration, together with Bluetooth connectivity and BFD software integration, makes it suitable for practice, recording, and performance-oriented applications.

Where It Really Excels

Natural Hi-Hat Control: The 10″ dual-zone stand-mounted hi-hat system supports familiar playing techniques such as half-open articulations, foot splashes, and gradual opening and closing movements.

Expanded Cymbal Expression: The 14″ triple-zone ride and 12″ dual-zone crash cymbals provide multiple trigger zones and choke functionality for a wider range of performance techniques.

Flexible Sound Assignment: Dual-zone drum pads allow rim and head zones to be assigned independently, supporting additional sounds, percussion instruments, or effects without requiring extra pads.

Practice & Recording Integration: Bluetooth audio streaming, USB-MIDI connectivity, and included BFD software tools make it easy to practice with backing tracks or integrate the kit into recording workflows.
