The ultimate professional recording kit. Featuring the complete Digital Pad Trinity (14" Snare, 14" Hi-Hat, 18" Ride), the powerful V51 Prismatic sound engine, and DW Soundworks integration.
If the TD-27 changed the game, the Roland TD516 reinvents it. This kit takes everything professionals loved about the previous generation and injects it with the DNA of the flagship V71 series. It is designed for one purpose: to bridge the gap between acoustic soul and digital power.
At The Bangalore Drum Shop, we recommend the TD516 for professional drummers, high-end recording studios, and institutions where "close enough" isn't good enough.
Unlike lower-tier kits that use analog trigger cables, the TD516 comes standard with Roland's three revolutionary USB Digital Pads.
PD-140DS Snare: A full 14-inch digital snare that detects your hand position, stick angle, and cross-stick technique automatically. No switching modes needed.
VH-14D Hi-Hat: The world’s most advanced electronic hi-hat. It offers touch sensitivity (you can mute it with a hand) and unmatched open/closed resolution.
CY-18DR Ride: An 18-inch massive ride cymbal that senses the lightest bell ping or the heaviest edge crash with zero latency.
The heart of this kit is the new V51 Module. It uses the exact same sound engine as the top-of-the-line V71.
DW Soundworks: Play actual multi-layered samples of Drum Workshop (DW) acoustic kits, recorded in world-class studios.
Prismatic Modeling: The sound isn't just a recording; it's a living model that reacts to how you play, not just when you play.
Studio Connectivity: A single USB-C cable turns the module into a 32-Channel Audio Interface, allowing you to record every drum to its own track in your DAW.
The TD516 introduces the PD-10P and PD-12P tom pads. These feature a new offset sensor system that eliminates the "hot spot" (loud center spike) found on older mesh pads. The result is a smooth, even dynamic response across the entire head surface.

Vs. Roland TD-27KV2 The TD516 is the direct successor. While the digital pads are the same, the V51 Module is vastly superior to the TD-27 module, offering the new DW Soundworks samples and better ambient effects. The new PD-P Toms also offer better triggering than the plastic PDX-100s found on the TD-27.
Vs. Roland VAD516 The TD516 and VAD516 share the exact same module and digital pads. The difference is aesthetic. The VAD series uses full wood shells that look like acoustic drums. If you need portability and a smaller footprint for a studio, the TD516 is the better choice. If you need stage presence, choose the VAD516.
High-Value Investment: This is a premium instrument. We offer secure, insured shipping across India to ensure it reaches you safely.
Module Updates: We ensure your V51 firmware is updated before shipping, so you have access to the latest kit packs immediately.
Component Support: Need to add a 4th tom or a china cymbal? We stock the specific expansion pads and mounts compatible with the TD516 rack.
Does this kit come with a hi-hat stand?
No. The VH-14D mounts to a standard acoustic hi-hat stand, which is sold separately. We recommend the Roland RDH-120 or a heavy-duty Pearl/Tama stand.
Can I record individual drums to my computer?
Yes! The USB-C connection allows you to record 32 separate audio tracks directly into Logic, Ableton, or Cubase without needing an external audio interface.
What is the difference between the V51 and V71 modules?
They share the same sound engine and sample library. The flagship V71 has more direct physical outputs (XLR) for large stadium concerts, but for studio and club use, the V51 is sonically identical.
