Stainless steel for a solid, powerful sound
The shell is 1.2mm stainless steel, which gives the LSS1465 a solid and extremely powerful sound. It projects easily over a loud band, so your backbeat stays clear and strong in the mix.
3.0mm Mighty Hoops: clear attack, even tuned low
Tama's 3.0mm Ultimate Steel Mighty Hoops produce an open, warm sound while keeping the rounded attack of a flanged hoop. Their extra thickness adds power, volume and resonance, and gives a clearer attack even from low to mid tuning ranges, so the drum stays articulate when you tune it down for a fat sound.
30-strand wires for a bright, bold snare sound
The MS30RL14S snare wires have 30 steel coil strands instead of the more common 20, for a bright, bold snare sound that stays audible under the rest of the kit.
A deep 14"x6.5" snare with wide tuning range
The 6.5-inch depth adds body and low end to the steel shell's cut. Tune it low for a fat, heavy backbeat, or crank it up for a sharp, cutting crack.
Tube lugs and MCS70 strainer
Ten MTL60 tube lugs hold the 10-hole hoops, and the MCS70A strainer with MCS70B butt end lets you set the snare wire tension and switch the snares off quickly.

What is included?
The snare drum only: a 14"x6.5" stainless steel snare with heads and 30-strand snare wires fitted. A snare stand and sticks are sold separately.
What are Mighty Hoops?
Tama's 3.0mm-thick Ultimate Steel Mighty Hoops, with 10 holes. They give an open, warm sound with the rounded attack of a flanged hoop, plus extra power, volume and resonance and a clearer attack at low to mid tunings.
How does it compare with the S.L.P. Big Black Steel LST148?
The LST148 is a deeper 14"x8" snare with a 1mm matte black steel shell, 2.3mm Mighty Hoops and 20-strand wires, built for maximum volume and a deep tone. The LSS1465 is shallower at 14"x6.5", with a thicker 1.2mm stainless steel shell, 3.0mm hoops and 30-strand wires for a bright, bold snare sound with a clear attack.
Will it fit my snare stand?
Yes. It is a standard 14-inch snare, so it fits any snare stand that takes a 14" drum.
